Did anybody on this forum other than me watch the premire episode of Teen Titans Go last night if not they are showing it all the rest of the week multiple times a day?
Yep, I caught it. I was a huge fan of the original show I thought it was okay, and I definitely laughed a lot. It was great hearing the entire cast again--they are all so great together. For anyone thinking of watching it, don't go in expecting the old show. It is not. The characters are pretty much the same, but this is all comedy and some comedic action. No deep storylines or dark plots here. For what it is though, I enjoyed it. I wish they would have stuck with the animation style they used in the shorts on DC Nation which was a lot closer to the original show and looked great. I won't discuss the content of the first two episodes themselves in case anyone still wants to check out its encore showing during DC Nation Saturday morning, but I will say the entire first episode revolves around a My Little Pony parody and is hilarious, especially Robin's line at the end! Wait for it.
In my case, I didn't go in thinking it was gonna be the old series. (That was apparent from the commercials.) So I enjoyed it somewhat. 1st episode: "Ponies! Oh great, there's gonna be a post on EQD about it." (There is.) 2nd episode: "Okay, this is NOT the same Cyborg. And they like pie WAAAAYYYY too much!"
I'm looking forward to watching more Teen Titans Go next Tuesday along with Johnny Test and Looney Tunes Show as well.
They remade Teen Titans? Um... why? Was the original too well written? Were the characters too well developed? Maybe the production value was too high? No... this couldn't POSSIBLY be a bad idea...
Raven and Beast Boy sound....different. At least to me, I know they're the same VAs but, I dunno....the show is ok so far.
What did they do to the animation? What did they do to the characters? What did they do to the solid messages? What did they do the balance of seriousness and humour? Why did they make an obvious brony shout-out? Why did they re-make what was already a very very good cartoon with all this different stuff? Seriously, Teen Titans showed me that cartoons were still cool even if you weren't a kid, and they turned it into this? Ugh.
I had no idea what this even was. SO I went to youtube and watched this. Spoiler: whatever Is this really what cartoons are turning into now. Was the original cartoon not good enough? I heard that young justice and GL animated were cancelled for this. I was never a fan of either of those anyway. Cartoon network just seems like they wanna ruin good things or at least make them silly and dull. They changed Ben 10 for no reason, I just don't get it at all. From what I gather out of that clip and a few tumblr posts are. Cyborg shoots pies and sings a song, WHY? Raven like ponies called Pretty pretty pegasus. Real clever there. Robin is......I don't even....I just can't Beast boy at least seems to be him. Starfire once again, I just can't I'll try to watch an episode of it maybe, but I just know I'm gonna hate it. I want a serious superhero cartoon. I don't even care if it's a done comic arc. Do the kingdom come arc as a cartoon, or blackest night. Anything but this kiddy crap. I don't want a super heroes to be this way. __________________________________________________ ____________________ So in the middle of typing the above, I watched it. ON second thought of the characters. I hate them all. I don't like the show. Pie bros or whatever was just awful. Legendary sandwich is just the same They've soiled it
Seems to like me that half of people are either absolutely loathing this show, mainly for it not having the depth & serious storylines of the original, while the other half at the very least is enjoying it, while still admitting its nothing like, and probably nowhere as good, as the original. Pretty much what I expected upon this show's announcement. Apparently the premier did pretty good in the ratings among key demos. And for people in the second group, the plots of the next two episodes airing next Tuesday have been released, along with clips. Spoiler: Plot spoilers for next week's episode Looks like we'll see Robin taking drivers' ed, with hilarious consequences. And here's a big one: the return of Trigon, Raven's father. Apparently he's "dropping by for a visit."
