Teen Titans Go

Raph has been my favorite for twenty years because of his fearless personality. Suddenly giving him a roach phobia is, quite simply, stupid.

Also, concerning the previous MLP generations, I meant that as a joke.

 

And why is it stupid? Perhaps showing that even the toughest most fearless turtle is able to be scared a bad thing. It also adds to comedic value. If any of the others had done the same it would have just been a thing they do.

You know, like when dash is scared in the best flyer competition. Same thing basically.

 

Raphael has shown fear in the past. He fears for the safety of his brothers.
THAT is why he is always the first to fight. He tries to defeat the enemies alone, so his brothers don't have to put themselves in harm's way.
THAT is why he can't lead the team, because he is unwilling to risk their safety.
In the cockroach episode, he ran and hid, while his brothers took a beating.
That is NOT Raphael's style, and the people at Nick should have known better.

 

I think it's just a bad cartoon thread now.

 

Anyone watch last week's episode?


I have to admit, I really, really enjoyed the first part, "Dude Relax." I had to look no further than the writer to figure out why. This episode was written by Amy Wolfram, who was one of the main (and best) writers for the original series. In fact, she wrote the most episodes of the original series. Needless to say, she knows how to write for these characters, even in this crazy comedy-only setting.


What I think I liked about this episode was that it was pretty character-driven, much like the original show. The episode, and all it's antics, focused on Robin's character, and his inability to turn "off," something which flows really well with the original series. I kept thinking of the episode "Haunted."


Plus the comedy was solid, it had some interesting references (like Robin's childhood in the circus, which was hinted at in "Haunted."), and the ending was pretty funny, even if I saw it coming from the beginning.





Laundry day, on the other hand, was okay. Nothing special, but not terrible. It was about par for the course quality-wise for this series.




Here's to hoping we see more writers from the original series return to write episodes for this! That's what made the "New Teen Titans" shorts so good.

 

I've enjoyed what I've seen so far, But part of me is majorly pissed at CN right now. They canceled Young Justice and Green Lantern, two of the best shows they've ever done, because the audience giving them such great ratings was "too old". What do they replace it with? Willfully stupid zany comedy. The implication is that they think kids are too stupid to appreciate an intelligent, well-written story, which is not only patronizing, but thoroughly insulting. I fear the new Batman show will be just as bad. I wish WB would move all their shows to The Hub, seriously.

 

I love it. Yes, it may have different animation style going and yes, it's going for more of a comedy way then the original but it still feels the same as the old...Most of the time. I want more episode, darn it. :3

Who here watch Pretty Pretty Princess?

 

I just watched episode five.
The show is not improving.

 

I was a fan of the original show. It was well written, well animated, and had well developed characters and interesting plotlines.
Teen Titans Go, however, replaced the drama that made the original so successful with juvenile humor and cheesy skits.
