I watched this and got a kick out of it. Aside from the awful puns, it's actually pretty funny.
I'll wait and watch it when it premires on The Hub it looks pretty darn funny and interesting though.
I know that both superhero cartoon shows and comic books alike both have their own fandoms but this is one superhero cartoon show that I hope does not get a fandom partly because the idea of a man dresses as a female superhero disgust me the show itself looks pretty good and funny though.
The show never asked you to take up cross-dressing... and at that, why is a boy dressed as a girl so "disgusting"? Male and female attire are constructs of society. Nearly entirely pointless, in other words. I'd think bronies of all people would be more opposed to gender roles and the assertion of them, considering they watch a show that society says is for little girls. Not very far off from wearing girls' clothing in terms of gender roles, if I'm perfectly honest.
I know that but I was just expressing my opinion. If you're into that kind of thing then that's fine. More power to you. I was just saying a T-shirt and jeans suits me just fine. As far as the show itself goes, I view the premise as being comedic and nothing more. Just don't expect to see me wearing a wig and pink spandex at a convention. Again, more power to anyone who does.
New show coming to the hub Nothing says “child-appropriate material” quite like gender-bending underage superheroes. At least that’s the theory over at the Hub, the network co-owned by Discovery and Hasbro, which is trotting out its latest soon-to-be-dud, SheZow. That show follows the adventures of a 12-year-old boy named Guy who uses a magic ring to transform himself into a crime-fighting girl. Yes, you read that correctly. When Guy says the magic words – “You go girl!” – he becomes SheZow, wearing a purple skirt and cape, as well as pink gloves and white boots. The chief executive of the Hub, who may or may not have been high (and leftist) when she greenlit this project, is Margaret Loesch. Loesch commented, “When I first heard about the show, my reaction was ‘Are you out of your minds?’ Then I looked at it and I thought, ‘This is just funny.’” So it Looks like shazam but with gender bending. On the hub. here is the trailer (btw, spacebar bug is still affecting the site)
I think there will be tremendous backlash from pissed off parents. Not only for the premise. There is also some pretty crude toilet humor. I have no problem with either but I'm sure many won't see it that way.
