No, you can, but some people think that having an opinion different from yours is wrong is hateful. Anyways, as I said before about it, it could be a whole lot better, but there was no second editor(which is an integral part of animating shows) so it obviously wasn't going to be all that midblowingly awesome
Animation was good. Nice music, and decent voice acting. Story, not so much. I really think they tried to get 30 minutes of content just to get 30 minutes of content. The first half was rather boring and the second half...unexpected. I wish they would have done something similar to an actual episode, or at least one with proper storylining. I don't like to bash as much work was put into this and it's awesome to see the talent this fandom holds. Just wish it wasn't so out of place. 7/10
Watched it again enjoyed it even more than yesterday also super nostalgia factor overload with all the not only Powerpuff Girls but several other Cartoon Network characters too (Samurai Jack, Dexter, Bloo, Billy and Johnny Bravo) and also I love the cameo from Dan, Optimus Prime, Zoe Trent. (best LPS pet ever) and Lucky (Pound Puppies)
Now that a lot of people have seen it, I'll share my opinion. Overall, I liked the episode. I felt the animation was great, as was the acting. I will admit that I wasn't too keen on the crossover aspect. It was cute, but just not my cup of tea. I still really like the episode though.
I could tell it was fanmade. I enjoyed it because it was fanmade. It went its own way and I felt that, for what it was, it was great. If you try and hold it up to the standard of quality that the real show has then you're already dooming it to failure. You have to remember fans made this for fans so the fact that it did the crossover, if you really think about it, was inevitable. The nostalgia thing was nice too if you notice that all of those cartoons that were shown were things that Lauren Faust and her husband had worked on for the most part. All in all I liked it and that's why.
It's not that people have different views and are therefore haters, they knock it down so low with their opinions that it's just plain wrong. If you can clearly see that they put so much work into, the least you can do is not knock it down to the tiniest thing. Nobody is forcing them to make it, so you don't have to hate it as if it was actually part of the show that got messed up.
I loved this episode so much. If it's cannon, and I have heard it is, it's my 3rd favorite episode. Sure, the voice acting may have been a bit off, but the humor and references were spot on. I'd go as far as to say some of my favorite pop culture references in any media come form this, and I don't even care for the Power Puff Girls.
The simple fact this exists is a testament to the love this fandom has the ponies. Animation was very well done for the resources available (love the little pieces like the companion cube and the Tardis, less so the Trollface), voices pretty damn good, editing and mixing on par, pacing somewhat off but overall one of the best products of the fandom so far. The flaw is the story. I am rather disappointed with the crossover. As soon as I heard that Back To The Future music sting along with the twin fire trails I was immediately expecting a time travel piece. Imagine, Rainbow witnessing the Lunar Rebellion, or Luna and Celestia's ascensions (possibly even playing a role in them), or just parodying BTTF directly in past-Ponyville. Wasted opportunity I think.
