I'm working on a fanfic with a major tie to the work of Tolkien and the middle earth world. The four characters play a supporting role to the mane six in the story, while giving a new angle on them. The setting is post season two, and a small unit of guards has been sent to ponyville to protect it, believing those that helped in the defeat of the changeling queen will be the target of revenge. In addition, a unit of wardens has been requested to assist. In middle earth, wardens are protectors of the weak and defenseless, masters of spear and javelins. In this story, its about the same, save they also serves as an elite fighting (mainly defense) force. The leader: Name: (currently nameless) (current name suggestion: Edge runner) Cutie mark: a set of wings behind a shield, a spear and javelin crossed over top (the shield being a warden shield, which is missing part to fight behind) Race: Pegasus Personality: the leader is the most experienced out of the group, while not much older then the rest, he's seen a lot of action, which has left him somewhat jaded. Traits: He's a pegasi, but is almost better on the ground then he is in the air. A lean, powerful build makes him solid at fighting and flying, able to take turns that would pop the wings out of the socket normally. He's very good at "earth flying", what we would call parkor or free running. He's not as strong a flier as rainbow, but he's got a powerful set of wings that let him move quickly if needed, so strong he can perform a miniature sonic boom with them, and use it like a projectile. A dark past haunts him, and keeps him up many a night. Over all, a nice guy, but can become unstable due to his past at times. Weapons: Short spear, but long javelins, with an above pegasi loadout. (due to being able to fly, a Pegasus pony would normally carry more javelins for air combat) Skills: the groups main armor smith, though he's not bad with first aid or cooking. The tank: Name: (nameless at this time) (suggested warden name: Cold mane)(Rainbow_D's suggestion) Cutie mark: A wall with a shield on it, crossed by a spear and javelin Race: Earth pony, Clydesdale Personality: The silent one of the group, very similar to big mac, he never says much, but can get his point across. Traits: Tall, dark, and silent, this big guy is the back bone of the unit. Very well spoken besides what appears to be a very back woods pony gives away his one secret, he's actually the son of nobility, but believe that he would do more good elsewhere. The strong silent type, his kicks speak louder then words, being slightly more powerful then big macs, but he can't kick that hard for as long as big mac can. Weapons: long spear, standard javelins, with a below average load out, due to less then ideal aim. Skills: main weapon smith, also a very good diplomat when the situation demands it. The morale booster: Name: (yes, I suck with names) (Fire bolt) Cutie mark:A shield with a pair of crossed javelins Race: Earth pony Personality: Upbeat and pleasant, but not overly chatty, and knows when to buckle down Traits: the fun one of the group, this earth pony is always one for a good chat. Enjoys good food and fine cider as well as just someone to talk to. Started out as a farmers son but became a warden to help defend all he loves. Weapons: standard spear, short javelins, with a double load out. he's the groups range expert, with very good aim. Skills: the groups main cook (though all help out) The medic: Name: (do I need to say it at this point?) (Moonbeam) Cutie mark: a shield with a red cross in the middle, a crossed spear and javelin behind it, a small roll of gauss (bandages) in front. Race: Unicorn Personality: A mix of a protector/healer and an egg head, though very formal and pleasant Traits: the groups main healer and medic, its little surprise he's an over all nice guy. Some times slightly soft spoken, but not one to cross at any given point. Loves to listen to old tales when he gets the chance. Stronger magic then rarity, but not as powerful as twilight (duh on that one). Weapons: standard spear and javelin, standard loud out Skills: First aid, limited healing magic Geez, ok, as you can see, I have some of these characters developed, but I need help with names and a few more details.
