It is official. Jack is back and in a big way. March 11th 2017 will be the return of a show that made history on Cartoon Network. It now will make it's mark on Adult Swim. This is proving to be more promising as the day nears for it to air the first episode of a new season. From the looks of it, it will be darker, edgier, and bloodier than the original series. No punches are being pulled and the hope of redemption lies with this show. No reboots, No cutting corners, No bull*squee!*. At least, that is the hope.
I have high hopes for this, because not only is being done by Tartakovsky and a team of Samurai Jack fans, it's being shown on Adult Swim instead of Cartoon Network. The one and only problem I ever fond with the original series is that the rating neutered the action significantly, and rarely allowed Jack or Aku to display the savage brutality that both were capable of. Now that's no longer a factor, and I can't wait to see what Jack's really capable of.
I have hopes for it as well and I'm going to watch it. I just hope they are able to get someone to be Aku as he deserves. His voice has been gone for awhile now... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0538683/
There's been speculation that Greg Baldwin will be brought in as the new VA for Aku. He's the same actor who voiced Uncle Iro (also originally voiced by Mako Iwamatsu) for his LoK appearances.
In celebration of the 5th season airing tomorrow, I figured to post the 107 facts you should know about Samurai Jack. While most info is known, it is interesting to learn about things we may not know. Either way, I am looking forward to the new limited series season. This is going to be awesome~
After binging the entire series, I managed to watch the first episode of the new season today. Holy f*yay!*, it's awesome!
Love the new season. Every bit as action-packed and awesome as the original series, with a little bit of blood and more mature themes, thanks to the Adult Swim airing. I'm actually viewing all the old episodes again, too. I used to be so pumped every week to watch the new episodes. They hold up, even now that I'm an adult. You're welcome!
Wow. Who would have thought that there was a rave song about Samurai Jack? I kind of want it now... Also... Ashi (the girl who was one of the assassins. I don't know how to spell her name ) is legitimately starting to grow on me. Spoiler *coughbetterredeemptionthanstarlightglimmercough*
When you realize that Ashi was naked this whole time. ************************************************************************************* I really like the new punk Tinkerbell thing she's got going now. It fits her really well, because her love of nature seems to have played a big part in her redemption.
Okay, but think about this: Ashi's training as a Daughter of Aku allowed her to wipe out an entire army, unarmed. Jack, once he got serious, easily defeated seven Daughters of Aku. Just how *squee!*ing dangerous is this guy?
Wow. Um... I'll be honest... that ending... Wasn't what I was expecting. Kind of anti-climatic and actually kind of bad. Spoiler Though it got me with Ashi fading out of existence. I'm not sure how I feel now. Just IMO obviously though.
