Final Fantasy is one of my favorite game series. I have almost all of them and I finished all but 5, 8, and Tactics Advance. I skipped FFXI because it was online. Final Fantasy 2(AKA 4 in Japan) is the best despite how old school it may be. In a previous post, I seen someone post that FFXII is the hardest. I had no problem with it, especially after getting some of the good items that help you with the auto-battles. I think FF8 is the hardest. FFXIII just had a boring battle system, and it was only slightly improved in FFXIII-2, but between the two, there's a really good storyline.
Great series. LOVE: III (DS remake) IV (original and DS remake) VI VII XII LIKE: Tactics VIII X I II DISLIKE: XIII (although I am going to give it another shot soon) HAVEN'T PLAYED: 4 Heroes of Light V IX XIII-2 X-2
XII wasn't the pushover that X was, but it also had a healthy difficulty curve. Of course, I seem to be one of the few people who really LOVED the Gambit system, so maybe it helped that I didn't fight the combat system. I don't know why I dislike the combat in XIII so much, myself. It is actually quite tactical on a level that most other games in the series aren't. Something about it doesn't sit right with me, though. I would have been fine with the lack of an enjoyable battle system if the game wasn't as linear as Gears of War and had VERY uninteresting characters. The only redeeming value of the game was the great music, interesting plot, and gorgeous visuals. Those only take a game so far, however.
