I didn't see the original too much, just a few repeats. But this looks interesting. Like an Undead Austin Powers...
I went to see it with my friends. I didn't see the original one either but it was pretty interesting, not too funny.
They marketed this movie deceptively. It wasn't a comedy like I expected. It had some funny bits in it, and the actors (particularly Depp) ham it up in a few scenes, but otherwise it was a fairly straight-faced movie. A beautiful film, I might add. Almost every Tim Burton film is an aesthetic feast, and this is no exception. It also has a pretty good plot, and Depp is awesome as always. I don't know why this is getting so many bad reviews.
