My favorite would probably have to be The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I bought the game a total of three times (first for computer disk, which died, second on Steam, and third on XBox) and have played it somewhat consistently throughout the years. The modding ability and community is amazing. It's a shame I can't get any of that on XBox, which is the only thing I can use now, though. As for least favorite, I'm not quite sure. I haven't really played a lot of majorly disappointing games. I did put a lot of time into Ocarina of Time, which eventually lead to frustration and from the start had sheer lacking of interest, so I'd probably have to go with that... If that doesn't make people rage, I don't know what will. XD
Wow, Ocarina of Time as a least favorite game... NOW I HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING. Favorite - Plok. Forever will be. Least Favorite - ...Duke Nukem. Never liked this game. I always felt that it was done poorly. For instance, Serious Sam is the same concept (badass man going against aliens to save the world or something like that) but God damn it, Serious Sam kinda is just better.
Heheh, it's not really a game I DISLIKE, so much as one I didn't enjoy as much as most games I've played. Most of the games I play are ones I've checked out and sound really fun, and this one was kind of irritating and occasionally tedious to try and play through on many parts of the game, and I just don't see how it could really be worth a perfect score.
Well: Thinking, Gameplay, Graphics, Difficulty, Idea, Story. All mixed and blended together give a perfect score. It isn't too hard, compared to, let's say, the older Zelda games. It is challenging when you first play it, though, though not too challenging to make it an impossible game.
The gameplay got kind of dull for me at about the 7th dungeon/temple of the game. Things necessary to do for progression of the plot seem so obscure/out of place that it almost seems like they're trying to force you to buy their game guides. Most of my deaths in the game were just really irritating and nonsensical, and took ages to overcome the causes of. While I'm one who doesn't mind- and occasionally prefers- getting my ass handed to me, I don't want it to be to something overpowered and ridiculously irritating to get through.
There's too much to respond to... First of all, games that really shouldn't make any list in any way are E.T. (Literally not playable. It's not a game.) Superman 64 (Ever had a cartridge freeze? You will.. And the multiplayer is like something out of a McDonalds happy meal.) Darkened Skye (Not hateworthy, but it's a game about a young girl on a quest to save her world, by recovering the skittles, to restore the rainbow. Enjoy.) There are more than these, but these are my top non-qualifiers. Favorites:I like games too much, and liked most of the games everypony here said they hated. As long as I can see the good they were going for, I can find a reason to like it. Top of my list though? Symphony of the Night, Shadow of the Colossus, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6. Hate: What they did to Sonic, and now I just want them to stop throwing what they did to him in my face.
At this current time My favourites - Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I grew up with this game, and I can never seem to get bored of it, no matter how many times I play through. The level design is good, the music was great, and the cut scenes did a great job from level transitions to plot development. Portal series. - An amazing First-person puzzle series with a great plot and amazingly well done puzzles. I have played Portal 2 multiple times without any loss of interest, and at this time, I'm even currently teaching myself how to make my own test chambers simply to continue the experience. Least favourite - Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. It was terrible. I tried it just to see how bad it was, and words cannot describe just how atrocious it was. It was good for a laugh though. (especially when your truck is going over 5 million mp/h in reverse.)
All i can say to that is... Plok - Fleapit. NOW If you beat that part of the game on the SNES in less than 2 months of training, I'ma give you my life. The water temple was a joke for me. Especially compared to this game.
Most favorite: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Duh. Least favorite: Brink It was bad enough before Bethesda had over 100,000 accounts stolen...
Favorite-Arkham asylum Least favorite- Prototype That game was the most rage inducing thing I have ever played.
I'm not going to choose one of the childhood classics, because I think I'd only choose them for the nostalgia, and not the game itself. I'm going to say Assassins Creed is my favourite game. It's between that, Mass Effect and Uncharted. Reasons being, they're well thought out, they're original, and most of all, they have an engaging plot. Call me boring, but I really only play games for the artistic, storytelling kind of aspect. I of course need good gameplay, but story to me is paramount. And for that reason, I'm going to say my least favourite games are the Call of Duties and Modern Warfares. I get so bored shooting people online. I need a point, a reason to play. I don't care about high scores or being a good gamer. I have to enjoy the experience. That said, I do like playing FIFA. Not PES though, that's just too annoying. It's not fun. Am I the only brony who likes football (as in soccer)? Probably.
Most favorite: I would say it would be the Mass effect series, or some other story aching epic game, as I'm a sucker for good stories. However when looking at bulk of hours spent and the fact I keep coming back to play, I would have to say Team Fortress 2. I just simply have fun with it. Least favorite: Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth; it was suppose to be a survival horror in my favorite horror setting, but the game and story breaks down quickly to just a crappy shoot the monster game.
Most favourite (Apart from res. the Thread): Rakion, before Cash gear was good. Least favourite: Rakion, after Softnyx added OP cash gear.
Favorite: Skyrim is pretty close, But I'd have to say Fallout 3, simply because it feels more satisfying to sneak attack someone with an Alien Disintigrator and watch then turn to ash than to sneak attack someone with a bow. Least Favorite: Pokemon Channel (though I don't know if one could call it a "game")
Nope! I like football! I don't have the money to pay for channels that support the matches monthly, but I do pick up the FIFA games every once and a while Most Favourite: This is a hard one, seeing as I have played A LOT of games. It would probably come down to Starcraft II, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 (mainly for its custom maps), or Half-Life... oooo, or the Metal Gear Solid series Least Favourite: I would say Duke Nukem Forever, but that's more of a disappointment. Big Rigs: Over the road racing is the worst game ever invented, and was disgraceful to see something that even I could do better than (I'm a Junior Software Engineer, with a passion for games ), so I will go with that as my least favourite
Heh, don't get me wrong. It's a "decent" game, but meh. The fan-base and all the arrow to the knee jokes killed it for me. Now SSX on the other hand. Best game ever. ..and Don't forget CS.
