That game is so Nerdy and Queerosexual! Just Kidding, It's Awesome. It kicks Oblivion's ass, and shine's Morrowind's boots! <3
((I was gonna make a thread like this, but what I understand from the rules posting here is better then making a new one. or should i have made a new one then necro-posting?)) My favourite game of all time, Shadow Hearts little advertising and comming out around the same time as ff10 It really hit under the radar. I only met a handful of people who ever played it. I ended up with it by accident I am so glad I did. the graphics sucked with it just being an upscaled ps1 game ported for the ps2 but the story, atmosphere, music, characters all blended together perfectly, it really proved a game doesn't need graphics to be good. one of the most unique rpg's ever and of course it's even less known prequel Koudelka. The result of trying to mix rpg with survial horror Awesome story not so great gameplay.
The Hobbit video game. I played this sooo many times as a kid but nobody seems to know of its existence. It's extremely faithful to the book and the voice acting was amazing. Just listen to this music!
Who can forget an unkown spinoff to a popular franchise The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard Actually the first elder scrolls game to have a dragon, just one though. The only one not an RPG it was an action game with a bit of platforming, had some similarites to tomb raider It takes place in the past, during Tiber Septim's (Talos) take over of Tamriel. Dragon Seeds seems to be obscure even by the standards of obscure games. It is one of my favorite PS1 titles, however, and I played it to death when I was a kid. This RPG had an AWESOME fighting system. Very unique game. Like Studio Ghibli meets Digimon. One of the best RPGs on the Playstation. Hilarious dialogue and great intro tune. Although the bosses were all fairly easy for me. Played the sequel? That one is superior in every way, including the tough-as-nails final boss fight.
Dragon seeds... oh man I would give anything to play that game again such fond childhood memories another monster raising sim I can't even remember where I got it I think it was one of those I can pick one game but none realy sound good and just a random pick. While all the kids were into Pokemon and Digimon I loved Monster Rancher I mean the real one not the PAL one that is actually Monster Rancher 2 It a such a neat feature you could throw in a music cd or a pc cd and it would read something and make a monster I could do it for hours There was something it looked for because it wasn't random and some cd's gave one of a kind monsters.
Me too. Dragon Seeds is crazy expensive now, though, so I'm hoping Sony'll release it as a PS1 classic one day on their online store (fat chance, but I can dream!) I think Monster Rancher 2 was my favorite. I LOVED getting into snowball fights with my monsters. Although my memory of the first time a monster of mine passed away in the middle of the night, as cheesy as it sounds, still gets me choked up.
I am hoping for the same thing, there is a couple games that I would give anything to see as a ps1 classic. When my first monster died I cried, and my dad as never let me live it down. I too still get all chocked up.
Anyone play Maximo? great game I used to play when i was younger, i spent hours trying to beat this game.
^ Now I have a sudden desire to play that game again. It was pretty awesome! Some people don't know Some people forget but metal gear solid was part 3 I get to play them because they are on disc 2 of the "Snake Eater" special edition They are on the HD Remake too, The special edition of the ps2 version is still better though The best one in the Series by the way but I digress MEATAL GEAR The game Peace Walker leads to. Feels Like a Metal gear, with unique boss battles and the fun stealth gameplay and METAL GEAR SOLID SNAKE I don't think this was even released outside of Japan until the special edition of snake eater but awesome, and leads to metal gear solid, and refrences are made in "guns of the patriots"
Viking: Battle for asgard may not be to perfect, but it has 500 npcs battling with axes at one point.
Last I checked, quite a bit of people know about that game. As for me, there's the Wario Land games. Seriously, it's a classic, fun series that doesn't get enough love because of those stupid Wario Ware games that took it's place {I liked the first one, but do we really need 6 games of the same exact thing?!}. Although Wario Land: Shake It was pretty popular and is a pretty good game too. The older games deserve more love though.
