Currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire Book 1: A Game of Thrones. Right now I'm on page 240-something. Spoiler: Spoiler Left off right after Catelyn turned the entire inn against Tyrion. It was pretty amusing, but at the same time it hurts because I really liked Tyrion earlier on. But I knew early on after the dagger the assassin used to try and kill Bran and Catelyn was found to belong to Tyrion that things were get dicey for the little guy. Oh well, time to see where this goes. It's a lot darker and far more violent/realistic than what I was expecting, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't like this approach to the medieval fantasy setting. I assume you mean the characters when you say "don't get too attached" because, well, yeah; that couldn't be more true.
Hmm, last book I read, not sure but I think it was Don't tell me the truth about love by Dan Rhodes, and I'm currently reading Red dog, red dog by Patrick Lane...
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Wondering if I should drop Turgenev's Fathers and Sons (really enjoyed his Virgin Soil but this one is putting me to bed) for William Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury.
Just finished: Elves Rise of the Taigethen by James Barclay (<3) Just started: Orcs Bad Blood Book III: Inferno by Stan Nicholls If you love adult fantasy, I cannot recommend either of those author's works enough! Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
I have never read a book written by this author, however I like adult fantasy books '^^ I will try one day :3 So, I'm reading the sister grimm (the everafter war), that's fun I love xD And, The Wheel of Time of course *-*
Right now, I'm reading A Clash of Kings, the second in the A Song of Fire and Ice books. There are way too many characters for me to decide who is the best. I haven't seen the show, but hopefully it's accurate.
Ah, Game of Thrones I've just watched the serie, not read books but it won't be long ^_^ I like many characters too ^^
A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin. It's book five in the Song of Ice and Fire series on which the HBO show Game of Thrones is based on. It's a little too vulgar for me at times as I see gratuitous sex and sexual terms pointless. They do not enhance the story in my opinion. I do however like the characters very much. Tyrion Lannister, the dwarf is a sympathetic character, not because he's a dwarf, but because of all those fighting for the Iron Throne, he's the one that would be a better king than any of them. His sister Cersai is a royal *****! Pardon the pun. You'd love to hate her. There are so many characters and they are all well written.
I'm currently reading through Science Fiction Hall of Fame: The Greatest Science Fiction Stories of All Time. It's an amazing anthology of all the best scifi stories from 1934 to 1963, as chosen by the Members of The Science Fiction Writers of America.
Well, last book was the fourth part of "Eragon", sorry I don`t know the english title. In german it`s "Das Erbe der Macht". Directly translated something like "the legacy of power". Anyways. Next one will be something by Tolkien, "Das Simarillion". Maybe it`s the same title in english, who knows..? Good to see so many of you are reading too! Greetings */)*
