this is the place wherw you can discuss both the stage and film versions. personally looking at the trailers I prefer the stage version rather than the film version. this is due as I believe that Alfie Boe and Matt Lucas provide a better interpretation of Valjean and Thernadier. Finally I would have to state my favourite two characters are Marius and Javert and my top three songs are provided below from least to most. 1)Red and black: 2) Empty chairs at empty tables 1) Do you hear the people sing
I saw every adaption, including the French version, AND read the book, both original, abridged, and pocket edition. In conclusion, I don't plan on watching this because I'm an ignorant moron.
I've never seen Les Miserable until I saw the movie version last week. It was actually really good, but then again, I have no other version to compare it to. Javert and Thenadier were my favorites, and they also had my favorite songs: "Stars" and "Master of the House". I haven't been able to get them out of my head! XD It was also a lot more depressing then I thought it would be, especially with Fantine.....and Cosette......Gavroche....Enjolras....Javert.....in fact, I'll just stick with Thenadier's happy song.
if you want the full 25th anniversary concert its below. Zeph I would say matt lucas plays thernadier better than sacha baron cohen skip to around 42 minutes for their first appearance.
Neat, thanks! At least now I have a comparison. I've heard people talk crap about how bad Russel Crowe was as Javert when I thought he was fine, so now I'm going to find out why!
It was released in the UK today, I'm booked to go see it on Sunday! I've seen the play, but I know they can do a hell of a lot more with the film special effects and setting wise, and with my favourite actress Anne Hathaway, my fifth favourite actor Hugh Jackman, and a story that makes me shed a manly tear every time, I can't wait.
"Watch 'em run amuck, Catch 'em as they fall, Never know your luck When there's a free for all, Here a little `dip' There a little `touch' Most of them are goners So they won't miss much!" Now I can't get "One Day More" out of my head!! XD
