SA-X is quite a scary character to run into on your first run through the game. Especailly early on, since it can basically two shot you. But once you get the Varia Suit, it's threat level drops. Though you still have to avoid it till late game. Though playthroughs after that, the SA-X loses some of it's fear factor. Especailly once you see how dumb the AI really is. The potential of it killing you is still there, though it's not hard to confuse the AI and screw with it. Alot of people make videos on the dumb AI for a reason. It's funny as hell when it breaks~
