    WORST

    10- SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING

This one is the lowest in the list because there was actually effort involved, at least with some level. That being said...this movie is WAY too jokey for my taste. I think the Sam Raimi and Marc Webb movies hit the perfect balance of comedy and drama, while this one was so much comedy it felt more like a parody than a legimitimate Spider-Man movie.

    9-TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT

This one is lower on the list because...come on. At this point, we all know what to expect. Michael Bay is gonna be his racist, sexist self, there's gonna be explosions, awful humor, and tons of product placement. Really, did anyone walk into this one expecting a good movie?

    8-THE MUMMY

I've said enough about this movie in the past, but it bears repeating...this was the wrong way to do a Mummy movie. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be scary like the 1931 and 1959 versions, or campy like the 1999 version, so it went for a halfway approach. It was too busy trying to set up a cinematic universe to pay attention to what it was actually doing. And really, is anyone actually scared of the Mummy anymore? The reason why "Hotel Transylvania" worked is because no one is afraid of Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Invisible Man, the Phantom of the Opera or the Mummy anymore.

7-KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD

This had the chance to be a dazzling, sprawling epic adventure, breathing new life into a symbol of courage and honor like King Arthur. Instead, it was a boring, joyless mess.

    6-THE DARK TOWER

Again, this has the chance to be an epic adventure movie, but they half-assed it all the way. They left out the most interesting parts of the books, they had a Roland who was barely awake through most of the movie, and a Randall Flagg that had none of the memace or the charisma of the Flagg from the books.

5-PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES

Why does this movie exist? No one wanted another "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. Johnny Depp didn't want to do it. The whole franchise has run its course, so I think it's high time to pout Captain Jack Sparrow to rest.

    4-THE BOSS BABY

This was immature, unfunny, half-assed, and had a plot too complicated to follow. Frankly, the "Look Who's Talking" movies did the whole "babies acting like adults" thing far, far better.

    3-CHIPS

This was just unpleasant to watch. Crass, immature, unfunny, and a complete insults to all fans of the original TV show. The original TV show had an unique charm that the movie completely lacked.

    2-THE LITTLE VAMPIRE

The original movie, while not great, still had a dark and otherworldly atmosphere, almost dream-like. This one was way too lighthearted and way too kiddy. Compare the hulking, menacing, sinister badass that was the vampire hunter in the original movie to the bumbling bufoon that is the vampire hunter in this movie.

    1-THE EMOJI MOVIE

Once again, it comes down to the movie that put the least amount of effort in, and this was it. This had no funny jokes, no interesting characters, barely any plot, just zero effort whatsoever. It is the epimtomy of the "WE GOT TO HAVE MONEY!" mentality, rushing out a quick, poorly-done product in a desperate attempt to entertain little kids. But kids aren't stupid, so they deserve better. They deserve to be treated with respect, and movies like this completely disrespect them as an uadience. That's why this is the worst movie of 2017.

    BEST

10-GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2

The Guardians of the Galaxy always exude an air of innocence and camaraderie, and it's no different here. All the jokes work, the characters are funny and interesting, and it has some genuine heartfelt moments. Not to mention, it manages to connect with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe without being in-your-face about it.

    9-KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

This was a fun movie. It's great to see the classic Sean Connery/Roger Moore-style spies back on the big screen. All the jokes were funny, the characters were likable, and it had great action scenes.

    8-IT

This is what a good horror movie should be. It had a sense of awe and wonder that most modern horrormovies lack while still being legitimately scary. The characters were great, you really feel the kinship between them, and the strong bond that allows them to overcome not only Pennywise, but also their own personal demons. And it managed to capture a timeless feel to it that few movies nowadays achieve.

    7-BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Yeah, yeah, I know what you are all thinking. But still, this IS the best "Beauty and the Beast" in recent years. Better than the 2014 version, and better than "Beastly". As far as movies based on classic fairy tales go, it manages to stay relatively close to the original, not changing anything too important. So, could it have been better? Yes, but it could also have been much, MUCH worse.

    6-KONG: SKULL ISLAND

This was another fun movie. Itmanaged to capture the spirit of the original King Kongf perfectly, it set up the Monsterverse way, WAY better than "The Mummy" diod with the Dark Universe, and the 70s post-Vietnam setting was perfectly done. It's also great that itr manages to have a connection between King kong and the main female character without making it a love story. And the whole "hollow Earth" thing is not only a great origin for King kong, but an unique concept in and of itself.

    5-MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE

This movie was just a treat. I know that non-bronies may not appreciate it, but for us bronies, it's the movie we were waiting for since day one. The transition from the small screen to the big screen is done great, all the characters have their time to shine, and they do great things with the whole "the Mane Six venture beyond the known borders of Equestria" thing.

    4-POWER RANGERS

I know a lot of people criticize this movie for being too campy. But the thing is, it's just as campy as the original TV show. With that being said, this movie has decent action scenes, great chemistry between the main cast, and it manages to stay true to the spirit of the original TV show.

3-CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS: THE FIRST EPIC MOVIE

This movie was funny and silly, but it also had a lot of heart and charm to it. It manages to have all the things that all the great movies for children should have: good humor, interesting characters, a nice moral, and a sense of wonder and adventure.

    2-WONDER WOMAN

This movie was just great. It managed to capture the sense of awe and wonder that few superhero movies these days manage to achieve. It had just the right amount of drama and humor. And most important of all, it raises some very interesting questions about the nature of war while still painting an overall hopeful and optimistic picture of humanity.

1-VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS

This...was a work of art. It had enormous amounts of creativity, the plot was very interesting, the characters were all charming, and most important of all, it took risks, it did had a bsense of flair and wonder that few mainstream movies nowadays have. And most important of all, it had a lot of heart. It was a really fun adventure movie, and by far the best movie of 2017.
