Mysterious Cities of Gold is a great cartoon series that I loved as a kid and still love today. You can catch all of the episodes on Youtube. The first one doesn't really explain the story very well but you still need to watch them in order. It really is a very long movie split up into about 30 episodes. Much like MLP it teaches a lot of good morals and things about friendships. It is a very different style though. Are there others here that enjoy these series?
