Did any of you ever watch some of the "original" series of the "My Little Pony" franchise? Like in the early 80s and 90s?

Just thought it would be a fun topic to point out.

I grew up watching the original My Little Pony and My Little Pony Tales.

I liked it when I was younger.
    It was kinda stupid though.

I know the series from when I was younger, though I was born in latter 80s. I wanted to watch the series, yet I never could. But I grew up with the toys.

I was watching the series and also reading comics regarding the oldest style. It's fun, pretty much cute, but I think FiM has some more realistic touch. I think it's weird to see ponies acting like humans, but they were smart at least. They weren't as sarcastic as FiM characters, but hey, it's fun to see more naive stories!

    And let's say I don't count G3.5 and its damned core-seven. It's an offense.

"I am a good knocker", what kind of script is that??

I saw a couple episodes of the old series. I didn't really like it. Animation was well, horrible. Wasn't stylish like MLPFiM at all. Was honestly, boring. :/

Well, it was the 80s (depending on the series) It's gonna be bad. I didn't like it that much either, I just thought it was something to watch if I'm feeling retro lol

I don't think it has so much to do with age (I'm only 20) as gender.
Only FiM has appealed to a male audience and those are the people who frequent boards like these most.

I'm not gonna lie the shows got pretty cheesy/babyish and the animation was bad, (Yes, it was the 80's but it got really bad sometimes. In one episode Cuddles hurts her leg and Cupcake is the one who says her leg hurts. And her mouth moves and everything. That's just careless.) but I like the characters themselves and it's something I loved when I was little so that nostalgic feeling will always be there.

Also, G1 toys will always be superior.
You never see quality like that anymore.

Well said with the G1 pony thing. At least they actually looked like horses.
Now,they kinda look like retarded dogs. No offense seeing this is a FiM type site and I think the show is good and all.

I think pretty much all the MLP dolls look like constipated pigs from Mars so you needn't worry about yourself offending anyone

While I agree about G1, saying that they look like dogs was pretty much extreme. Besides, after G1 they didn't even have horse-like gestures and such (especially G3.5), at least they're trying to regain the horse-alike features in FiM.

And your font color is almost killing my eyes xP
