As the title suggests, there is something about this movie I just don't get. The concept is that all crime is legal for one night, right? Why are the criminals still wearing masks? Surely they don't need to conceal their identities when what they are doing is perfectly legal in that period of time?
They don't want some lunatic to come for revenge once crime is illegal again. Seems logical to me, but I don't know the official thing.
There is a fair chance that it would to protect their identity once the purge was over to avoid being a target in the next purge. Not to mention the directors could have used them to add to the simple concept of making it a horror film that will live up to it's standards.
Yeah, they hide their faces so they won't be targeted at the next Purge. The thing that I don't understand about this movie, is that if all emergency services are stopped during this time window, what about those who need medical help. Pregnant women going into labor, the elderly, accidental injuries, are all those people just ignored?
Nothing in the movie makes any sense... I think it becomes a little silly trying to apply logic to it.
