They probably will at some point. It's inevitable, really. I'm expecting either 2012 or 2013, personally.
YES! I like how Sonic Adventure is on the arcade, but if SA2 was released, with Battle as the added DLC (similar to how Director's Cut was a separate dlc), that would be amazing!
I couldn't not post this. You have to check out this guys youtube, his Sonic-inspired music is cool. Speaking of Sonic music, I personally find that the soundtracks are almost always awesome (the only exception I can think of being some of the Game Gear games, and even then I don't think they were bad soundtracks). Or maybe that's just me. I haven't played the HD version of Unleashed--only the cheap knockoff Wii version--but it has a lot of awesome music. Unfortunately, one of my favourite tracks from Unleashed isn't in the Wii version because that level is completely missing in the Wii version. :c Not sure why I love that stage's music so much. :derpe: Of course playing the game you probably wouldn't hear much of the day stage song since those acts go by pretty fast.
Well being a Tails fan I really like playing the Sonic games. I very recently got generations and the updated CD, and both games are some of the best that SEGA has released in a while.
I used to play as tails all the time. He's too cute! :3 But I started using Knuckles because of his glide move. Now I pretty much only play as sonic. Because sonic's gotta go fast, and it feels awesome whizzing around as him.
I'm not a big Sonic X fan, but for some reason I love the phrase "gotta' go fast". :V Speaking of which... EDIT: And, from the same person:
^ Pretty fast on the second video. I kinda had a hard time consistently keep my speed up on that level for some reason... :/ It's nice that they've finally made a great, pure Sonic game without adding some gimmick that ruins the whole blame thing like turning Sonic into something for half the levels. (I wish that more than half of Sonic Unleashed was good, I really do...) I'm also glad that Classic Sonic returns on this one, as I'm a fan of the older titles. I'm still waiting for chance to play as Tails once again though...
I'm a bit of an old fan, Sonic 3 was one of the first games I ever played. I am slowly getting into new sonic, my first new sonic game was Sonic unleashed, which was better than I expected. Then me and my boyfriend bought Sonic generations together, though I haven't played it yet as I don't have a video card and he does *face hoof*. And my boyfriend got me Sonic colours for christmas, which I completed today. Are there any other good DS sonic games out atm? Tails > Sonic, btw.
^I've always enjoyed Sonic Rush which is an older title. Dimps seems to make enjoyable Sonic games IMHO. Other than that and Sonic Rush Adventure, I really can't think of anything besides the Classics Collection, which has all three of the first Sonic games and Sonic & Knuckles. However, I couldn't tell you if they are faithfully converted or not as I have yet to play that collection. And yes Tails is > than Sonic. Any others agree?
Sonic Classic Collection is alright. You can't access the cheats for Sonic 2 or S3&K though. :/ Oh well, at least I finally beat S3&K completely legit for the first time because of it. And yeah, the Rush series is pretty good. The DS version of Colours was mediocre, but pretty fun for what it is. EDIT: Tails is cool and all, but Sonic's still my favourite character. The only characters I dislike are the Babylon Rogues from the Riders series...oh, and Omochao. I'm glad you can turn Omochao off in Generations. o_o
^ I don't know about the hating Omochao thing for me... He wasn't as annoying in Sonic Generations and I enjoyed torturing him in Sonic Adventure 2. Though he was super annoying in Sonic Heroes and some of the other games. :/
No, omochao was damn annoying in both Sonic Adventure games, though I don't think he was named until the second. Omochao is to Sonic as Navi is to Link. Only, Navi was actually helpful. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favorite game out of all the Sonic games. Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 were both great games. Sonic Spinball was a fun, if frustrating, spin-off game. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 (aka Next Gen) was awful. Gameplay, characters, mechanics, controls, load times. I beat it, save for the last area because, since SA2, they have been criminally difficult and I never even beat SA2's Last (?) stage because of Knuckles's stupidly hard underwater part (had infinite breath tank). S3&K > SA1 > SA2 for me. Not that Sonic 1 and 2 are bad. I never enjoyed playing Sonic 2. Sonic 1 had the best final boss music, though.
IIRC, you walked up to a TV activated him. Then he would fly around you and never shut the hell up. :| He was never even that useful unless you were new to the game and just acquired an item that gave you a skill. Even then, 90% of the skills you could've figured out on your own... or consulted the manual.
Nah, he wasn't in SA1. The TV monitors didn't have a voice, you just had to read them yourself. Tikal was cool, wish she had gotten a cameo or something in Generations, maybe during the Perfect Chaos fight. I wonder who would have been her VA, though...
I kind of agree with a general consensus that the games got flooded with new characters to make them "fresh" when all we ever really wanted was the incredibly EPIC storyline the comics did. Imagine the world of Sonic/Mobius with games that mirrored the comics? I was pretty sure something in Sonic Adventure like Omochao was giving you nonstop information. It's been a long time since I played that game and I don't have my nifty Dreamcast handy.
^ That was a sphere of light that was Tikal's soul. Not quite as annoying as Omochao, but close, and you couldn't torture it.
Sonic advanced 2 is best sonic in my opinion, then CD. Lul. I'd say it was advanced 3 only that game had partners, and they only made things harder a lot of the time, dang partners... Never played adventure. I'm a bad person...
