They do Now in regards to the actual topic, the PS3 didn't have an amazing release either. It got increasingly better overtime. but honestly i don't want any of the Consoles to fail because I want competition, it'll mean consoles get better.
Screw both of 'em. My problem with the industry has more to do with the fact that the consoles are so expensive and the games are only getting more costly.
I think this has sealed it for me and how I view MS and XBOne. "Field validation, how do? hurr." inb4 all they needed was if (str[0] == ' ') ... Either way, what an incredibly moronic "flaw." I don't think you can get much worse. Somewhere an engineer is crying.
Sony is winning the race yes, but the PS4 has more glitches than PS3, but still its better than XBOX 1.
PS4 clearly has more power. But PCs blow it out of the water. Learn to hit 60 FPS at 1080p, consoles.
Caring about graphics and framerate? What is this? It used to be we didn't need a pretty skybox and 70,000 individual grains of sand for you to see to have a great gaming experience. Really that's the only thing PC has over consoles. That and the PC exclusives, but exclusives just make gamers as a whole, angry and jaded. Which in turn sparks console and platform wars. And the whole PC Mustard thing. In short, PC is graphics and elitism, and I long for the day when everyone can be united under one glorious flag of gaming and leave behind petty wars about better graphocs and games and consoles and platforms etc. Etc. Don't get me wrong, I play both PC and consoles, and I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible here, but I can't see the PC as a dedicated games machine, it just doesn't have that convenience that consoles do. At least in my opinion.
Maybe the reason I hate many console titles is the low FOV that you can't change. Any FOV below 90 gives me eyestrain. Also, the easily customizable experience through mods gives most games far more replayabity. On top of that, you get free online play, easy internet access, better performance, which does matter, and some killer exclusives. Yeah, try playing DotA 2, WoW, Starcraft II, the original Deus Ex, Brutal Doom, and a slew of other titles on console. Also, you can get free backwards compatibility, emulators, and easy video capture. Plus, with modern titles, you can get much better anti-aliasing and texture quality. And you can get a PC that outperforms every modern console for $700, which, in the long run, is a good investment. But mostly PC is better because of FOV xD
Sure you could in theory get a PC that can outperform consoles in every way for about $700 but if you want a halfway decent one that can keep up with everyone else's DURF HURRR BEEF Computer, be prepared to shell out lodsofemone so you can look at painstakingly rendered 7,000,000,000 polygon rump of your protagonist. And have it not burn a hole through your floor to boot. I'd rather not save up a small fortune to get a decent PC. I'll stick with consoles. Everyone is free to play what they choose, but the unneeded elitism of the majority of PC players turns me away from a lot of PC gaming as a whole. It goes like this: "I have a console!" 'Kill yourself durty console peeasant!1!!! Le Glorious PeeCee Mustard And Rice.' "I now have a good PC!" 'Lolno not as gud as muh super l33t gayming PECEE. Git gud pleb.' Like seriously I can't even deal with that. Why must large portions of the PC community be so toxic?
"Shhhhhhh shhhhh..just game..no specs.." I feel sad for people who think playing emulators is the same as the real thing.
