Hey does anybody remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Next Mutation from the late 90's because it was shown on The Hub yesterday afternoon and that show was both weird and funny plus why does this show have five turtles instead of just the four we all know and love and how is it that she's not related to Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael at alll?
Since nobody/ pony wants to talk about The Next Mutation on The Hub how about we talk about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012- present version cartoon show on Nickelodeon that's a better show anyway?
The character Venus was added to the show in a desperate attempt to broaden the fanbase of a then dying franchise. The new series is tolerable, but is too reminiscent of the cheesy 80's incarnation of the show.
Ok I was wondering why Venus was only in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Next Mutation plus in both my opinion and the only of my friend Josh we think that the new show is only just a little bit better than both the 80's version and the 2003-2005 show.
I despise CGI. It's just lazy. The '03-'05 version of the show had a darker tone, more reminiscent of the original comic. The 80's show was a marketing tool meant to sell toys. (Sound familiar?)
Fast Forward was watchable, despite the annoying robot characters. It was nice to see April and Casey get a happy ending. Of course, with this crap-tastic new version, April is now a teenager, and Casey Jones is M.I.A.
I no longer like or care about The Next Mutation from now on i'm turing this thread into a thread about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012- present version.
I know several people who like the present version. I saw a few episodes and it's pretty cool. Although April being a teenager and a few other things changed does leave it with a different taste for those who have seen TMNT since the 90s. The next mutation I would see on occasion on fox kids. The live-action movies were also a great moment in my childhood.
Some of the new gen is decent. I like that they brought Karai and Baxter Stockman back. However, the lack of a certain hockey-masked vigilante is quite noticable.
