Wherein we discuss any iteration of the series, from the original Mirage comics to the latest movies.
I'm an old school '87 series and '90 movie fan. Always identified with Raph in both instances. In the cartoon, he was a smart-ass and in the movie, he had a REALLY short fuse. I've watched very little of the later content so, I may be a little bit stuck in the past.
I loved the 1987 series as a kid, and even went as Raphael for Halloween when I was four or five. Kinda got away from the series as I got older, only watching the occasional rerun or movie, then the 2003 cartoon came out and pulled me back in.. The 2003 series is still my favorite cartoon so far, but the 2012 series is getting right up there. In the last couple years, I started to read the comics, and find them as enjoyable as the cartoons. In some ways, more so. The comics have always been aimed at more mature audiences than the cartoons.
I think that's the interesting thing about the 2003 three series. It followed the original comics better than the original cartoon so it made for a better over all story. The original cartoon was all over the place and didn't really have a flowing story. The new one is a little all over the place but still has the flowing story of the second cartoon.
To be fair, the 2003 series got a little all over the place towards the end, too. Fast Forward was kinda when it jumped the shark, but I did enjoy some parts of the arc. Also, this was a thing that happened: It was pretty much the greatest thing in the history of things. And then... they did it again.
I read the first issue of the Former, none of the later. The 2003 did start to fall apart after the lost episodes. Don't know what they were thinking with Fast Forward. I too liked some of it. Back to the Sewers was okay, but not as good as the earlier seasons. What sucks is the original DVD of the earlier seasons were terrible with episode order.
Double post! Anyway watched the season ender yet? What do you think? I noticed Bradford was missing. Does that mean Leatherhead ended him in the previous episode?
Waiting for it to buffer as I type this. ****************************************** That would have been better as a two-parter. They had to pack so much into twenty minutes that the final confrontation was over too soon. I figured it would be Leo that finished it, but I did like Raph's moment of rage-fueled badassery.
They also made it look like they left Bebop and Rocksteady to be killed by the training room. I figure it'll turn out that Tiger Claw saved them all, and they'll be working for him next season.
I saw it on a Youtube video about Toy Fair. I don't follow the toys too much myself. I did get the pack of Mousers though.
He looks a bit like a priest, so I'm assuming this is related to the monsters/monster hunters toy line. I hope it makes it into the show.
Well we go the answer to whether or not Leatherhead killed Bradford, he did. Don't like the new theme....
Dammit, I knew I should have checked for new episodes before reading this thread. Not much of a spoiler though. It seemed pretty obvious. -EDIT- I like the new opening. Reminds me of Cowboy Bebop, or Archer. Would have been a lot better without the voiceovers, though. Shoulda kept it simple.
