The latest Dr. Seuss story to be made into a CGI film is "The Lorax". It takes place in a world covered in plastic, metal, and electronics, where a boy tries to find a real living tree to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. He winds-up finding the old house of an old man who has story about a little furry creature who fought him to protect a land that once had a forest of trees in it. I didn't even know this was being made...hmm... I thought the book was extremely depressing do I see that they lightened it up a bit....and added characters...hmmm. Wait, Danny DeVito?! I'm sold, end of story.
Zac Efron? Bleh. Taylor Swift? Bleh. Betty White? Ok. Slightly creepy music? Hmmm. Danny DeVito? SOLD! That's basically my take on the trailer. It was quite shiny too. Sky, I'll preorder the tickets now.
Well, the plot has already been told in the book. There's not much to worry about that as long as they stick to it, so the bigger question is how they do it. In this case, the voice acting is a big factor.
I LOVED. THIS MOVIE. Even the Once-ler. He had a cool tophat. ED HELMS. ANDY. FROM THE OFFICE. ANDY AND HIS VERY COLOURFUL pants.
