I've actually just played Pokemon White and now I'm playing White 2. While I'm not a huge fan of some of the Gen V pokemon (I'm looking at you Trubbish), I think that the story line made up for that. I actually quite liked the villians for once. I'm also enjoying White 2 because some of my favourite pokemon appear at the start of the game (Riolu and Growlithe). I think that Gen V has put Pokemon back in the top spot for me, although that's probably because I've been playing pokemon for a long time.
I haven't been able to "pony" up the cash yet (hehe), especially since I just lost my job, so I probably won't play it for awhile, but I am seriously looking forward to the movie studio minigame.
Of all the series's out there, I'd say Kingdom Hearts was the best. The emotional heartstrings were just... gorgeous.
LSD: Dream Simulator is best videogame. Only one game, but it could be considered a series since it's different every time it's played...
I also love Tekken, Dead or Alive and Street Fighter but Mortal Kombat is the best fighting game series ever.
The Pikmin series, all the way. It's one of the most fun RTS games I've played. Pikmin 1 was fun, but Pikmin 2 really hit home, and is probably my most favorite game of all time. Oddly, the next series in line has my favorite character... Second is the Kirby series. Who knew that the most cute pink puffball with a huge appetite could be a hero. Kirby is probably the most important character of my early gaming career, and I'm still a huge fan. The Paper Mario series is third. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (for Gamecube, the most underrated console) is such a great RPG. The series in general has humor, action, great animation and color, while being very fun.
I'm currently playing Pokemon Colosseum and it has confirmed Pokemon the top spot on my list. Why couldn't Game Freak take this 3D route with the main series games? I'm also going to give the Pikmin series a try after I finish that. It looks like a fun game to get into.
I'm having trouble deciding, so I'll post my top five. The Legend of Zelda Mario Metal Gear Solid Resident Evil 2D Sonic
1st for me would have to be the older sonic series. I always loved blasting through the levels as fast as I can, though I never could hold the speed for long. I still play the new games, but mainly for speedruns. I kinda lost it when they added 200 other characters. Close second is pokemon. I still play it on my old gameboy and try to catch them all. Things like this get difficult when they add about 120 new pokemon each year. Oh well, keep trying. I feel the need to mention Donkey Kong Country. I only remember there being three games, but they were my favourites as a child. Donkey Kong Country was actually the first game I ever played. It was the most amazing experience of my childhood, until my mom noticed me and began lecturing me on how games were the devil's creation and they were meant to infect my mind. Needless to say, she hid the console from me and I thought I'd never play again. But my dad would make time for me to play it when my mom couldn't find out. He kept this up for 4 years, even if my mom gave him hell whenever she caught me.
Pokemon was actually super good... Half-Life also gets a shout out. Those games aged well... And Mega Man is usually consistent and quite fun. And the soundtrack rocks!
hmmm hard to say played Infamous recently and loved it so tied between that Legend of zelda and Mortal kombat :3
