Semi-related, Frederator Studios (the people that make adventure time) also make an amazing web show called bravest warriors: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2DcNkn8HAwRCsyrLzeLW8e0ScNNvadcE
The last ep of AT was pretty nuts. Spoiler: spoiler Finally found out who the creeper ghost girl from the mystery mansion ep was, discovered that Finn has been reincarnated dozens of times, PB is older than Yoda - as are many of the candy people, and got some more interesting insight into the post-apocalyptic background of the Land of Ooo. Quite the mind-blowing episode, this one. Also, shame about Finn and FP in the episode before last, I really thought they'd be able to work things out. :/
Just watched "The Vault." Spoiler: Spoiler I was expecting the Green Lady to be the ghost of Finn's mother. Totally did not see the reincarnation thing coming. The Princess Bubblegum being old thing, however, was obvious.
Spoiler: spoiler Maybe not that, but, there's interesting theory about Shoko and Maya. If you remember in episode "Sky Witch" Maya had picture of Shoko and an old computer in one of her rooms full of junk. Since Maya's design is pretty similar to Shoko's I wouldn't take out possibility that Maya is Shoko's mother. Also, another theory is that that room is physical representation if Finn's Vault. We just scratched surface of his Vault, who knows what else is inside.
That's interesting...good thing you brought that up, I rarely catch small stuff like that. Speaking of, there's a TON of small stuff in Adventure Time I wasn't aware of til I started browsing through the wiki. The staff sticks in tons of little tidbits and easter eggs all over the show.
A little while back, I watched an episode of this show, and in all honesty, it really wasn't my thing. :/
Everyone has their own thing, but with Adventure Time, you really gotta watch more than one episode to understand the depth of it. Most people don't like it because it just seems too random and silly, but there is actually a much deeper story under the surface, along with some really great character development. So you really gotta watch probably a dozen or so episodes before you really understand it's full depth, and the episodes that delve deep into the Land of Ooo's backstory don't show up until after season 1 I'm pretty sure, which can be a lot to ask of someone if you're trying to get them into it. But...if the silly randomness doesn't appeal to you, then you probably still won't like it anyway, cuz that doesn't really ever go away. Just throwin' that out there. Another cartoon that's come out recently that I really got into is Gravity Falls, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a cartoon that's a cut above the usual stuff. *1,500th post! *woohoo*
If by "cut above the usual stuff," you mean "the best cartoon Disney has made since Kim Possible," I'm inclined to agree with you.
Well you've got an issue there... Sure, you can judge it from one episode, but I feel like in order to truly apreciate the show, you need to watch at least five episodes. Adventure time is much deeper and serious than the children's show it looks like. I've noticed a surge of really well written cartoons. Cartoons such as adventure time, regular show, gravity falls, and, of course, mlp FIM. At least two of them are much deeper than they seem.
Spoiler: spoilers indeed, and there are lot of things hidden or that were forshadowed in previous episodes, or that were connected in couple latest episodes. Like details about PB's age, or showing of Young (Old) Mr. Creampuff (from season 1 that was first one to outbreak zombie outrage) that was PB's ex bf. Also, in The Vault, they connected real time universe with alternative universe from episodes "The Litch", "Finn The Human" and "Jake The Dog". If you remember, in alternate universe, Finn didn't have one hand, and had mechanic arm pretty similar to one Shoko had. Also, if you noticed, in alternative universe, there was gang (Destiny Gang) that bullied everyone that lived in that house/castle like one in Shoko's time (Bath Boy Gang). Not only that, in episode "The Creeps", episode where Shoko appeared first time, and The Vault was mentioned first time, castle that they were in was same castle that was previously controlled by Bath Boy Gang, which was, well, important landmark in Shoko's life. If you look even deeper, you'll notice that it's same castle that was hq of Destiny Gang. My suggestion is to check Adventure Time Subreddit after episodes for all things you might have missed. I missed 2-3 things after the episode that I noticed after I read reddit posts on that subreddit Blackened : Adventure time is very story driven cartoon. You can't watch just couple random episodes, because everything will seem random and with no sense, but there's always some logical and deep backstory to almost anything that's going on, even if there isn't, there will be some episode that will explain what happened.
I've watched a few more episodes and I'm DVR'ing even more! I'm starting to really dig this show! I even bought a Marceline plushie today!
Adventure Time is pure imagination. I tried to write a fan episode one time, and I literally gave up simply because it could never be as quick paced, clever, bizzare and unpredictable. That show has my utmost respect
Well, I did it. I bought the first 2 seasons on DVD. I watched about half of the first one so I think it's safe to say I'm hooked.
If they are, I wasn't able to find them. However, there are numerous sites where you can watch the entire series online.
http://www.watchcartoononline.com/ This site has almost everything, and according to AVG, it's safe. The only (small) problem is the occasional pop-up add.
