The old bar sat just of the main street, withstanding the test of time as other buildings came and went, The Black Lighting Bar stood as an ironic building of where things never changed and the past could be looked on and the good times, the bad times and any times between could be remembered and to look to the future over any form of poison. The bar had long since shut and the locals that stay after the lock in had long gone home as the dirty white Pegasus rolled up outside pulling the large cart in its wake, the grey unicorn along side it who knocked at the door. "We're SHUT!" A few voices called from the other side "Go home" "Yea! Go-" A voice called up from above "Oh, R open the door and get the usarel out on the bar" it said as it came closer "YOU WHAT!?" the door swung open to a White pegasus with disbelieve on its face "Hey Grey, what brings you back hey?" the white pegasus that had flown above said "Flash, nice to see you, and R, fancy giving us a place to stay for the night "Always Gery, hey Stainless" The dirty white pegasus made a noise back, a sort of hello as he kicked the cart to release himself from it, and tell the others to get out of the cart "Always the talker hey Stainless" said another pink pegasus as Grey followed R in to the bar "Where is Vinyl and Oatmeal? and that little Fill-" a sudden brown flash went past R and went to a table and started to bounce on it "- Seralth?" "Get off there you silly thing!" Foxy tried to cue the small pony off the table as Stainless entered with Oatmeal and Vinyl behind Stainless just pushed Foxy out the way as he grab Seralth by the tail and dragged him off to a corner bench "SLEEP" Stainless ordered as the two stared into each others eyes, Seralth thought of pulling the normal rountie till he saw the tiredness in Stainless' eyes and settled down to sleep All the meeting the greeting carried on between bar staff and EPR's DJ as the great dirty white pegasus trotted out to the cart. *CREAK! BANG!* Stainless followed the cart wheel back into the bar with bag of stuff on his back. "Back axles gone again Grey" he said as he want to cover the sleeping foal with a blanket and then walked over to a spare table which he checked the bag on and started to route though it. Foxy flew over to close the door and to see what had happened outside, and true to Stainless' words, the cart laid on the floor as its back axle gave out, the cart looked more more worn out then the bar did. "Grey" Foxy attracted his attention "You been pushing Stainless to hard again?" she asked as she went to find Stainless' most liked drink from the bar "No" It was the brownish pony known as Oatmeal that replied to Foxy "He has been pushing himself again, gotta remember that hes out to prove something to his grandad since not getting in the guards" "And with Unicorn Parents and siblings as well" Add Vinyl "Guess your right" Foxy routed for Stainless' drink, she thought she might as well get a whole case of it for him, he looked like he needed them "We try to tell him to take it easy, but with that axle going 3 times already, his pride not getting better" Grey said be sticking the ale to his lips Foxy guess he was right as she lifted off the ground with the case and flew over to Stainless' table were he routed for a pencil as he had laid the paper flat and other bits of paper over the table. Stainless was a strange one she agreed, it must be hard to grow up a Pegasus in a Unicorn Family, probly explains his drink taste. She carried the case of cider over to him, she remembered he had been though all the ciders the bar had to offer, he rejected the popular ones, the rare favorited was his common, but on a bad day he loved a bottle of this stuff, from a farm near the Evergreen forest, it didn't sell well so orders were low, unless Stainless was near any bar, he drank it like water when he was having bad days, which was often, she hoped they had enough. "Hey Stain" She called, just remembering to late "Grrr" He didn't make eye contact, just stared at the paper and the notes he had made at some point "Sorry, got you a bottle of Ponyville's finest" Stainless looked at the bottle like an old friend "Thanks" he muttered as he made eye contact with Foxy, and took the bottle, placing it on the floor, she placed the case near by them as well and sat quietly next to him as he muttered and draw out something, making notes and looking at the photos of a train cart and that of the Pegasus Guards Carts. She, herself was a writer, a creator who is able to pull nothing out of air, she watched as Stainless did the same but with drawing, well, rather designing, as Stainless was no artist. "Come on, come over to the bat and say hi and let us all catch up Stainless" Foxy asked as he looked in his bag for other stuff, showing off a good amount of bits. "Later, I've got to get this out of my head and onto paper Foxy, thanks for the drinks" saying before he took another swig of the cider. The group burst into laugher, and as Foxy went to see what was so funny, Stainless called out. "Where did the Quote: Work, the cruse of the drinking class come from?" "Urm, tell you later?" as a bigger laugh came from the bar "Ok, sure"
Looking good so far! Keep it up, I like the style. There's a few grammatical issues, but they can be ironed out when you're done! Basically what Flash said!
This day only came once a year, just after the summer satoliatd, the choosing the new guards, where the best the schools had to offer stood in the Garden of the Guard Tower for the Paleness in Canalot to be recruited in Equestrias army. Stainless knew some faces from last time, but more then half were new, and all that he knew were new last time, he as the only one to come back for a third time. All the recruits should in lines of ten, in ten rows. Stainless stood in the same spot he had for the last two years. 'This year!' 'You really think? Third time lucky? You weren't even at the top of any classes this year' "This Year!" he gritted thou his teeth, causing an odd look from the two either side of him, both Earth Ponies, one in blinding white showing off how Stainless was just slightly off white, the other one was spotless grey, the recruitment army shinned like a mirror, 'First year' Noted Stainless as he stared at his army, the 3 years had not been kind to it, he had become dull, to show he wasn't good enough last time, he checked the other earth ponies army to see it dulled, but not by much. 100 recruits, each with a one in four chance of getting into the guards. Stainless waited with the rest, his coat prefect, his mane and tail at its best, his wings, freakishly large wings well groomed, he was ready this time! The name calling began for the 25, and Stainless didn't breath once for each name "Steelion Ferrous" That name made him jump, close but no cigar he thought, it was getting back, they had hit the S quickly as he did a head count, that Steelion was number 18, and looking at the rest, few were second tries, his hopes sat high "Testyal Srpshaka" - His Grandfather's voice bellowed out the final name as a Unicorn joined the lucky 24. Stainless stood there, he did the head count and again, 'NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO' He remained stood and fixed 'Thats it, game over, no 4th try' He stared at the stage where the lucky 25 stood, his Grandfather shaking all their hooves as they past to their barracks to be trained and become guards for the Princesses "Thank you for trying, Please Return Next Year" the voice bellowed out again, after this many of the ponies departed some never to return to this place, others would but one could not longer return "Sorry, Stainless Titanium Hoof" the voice bellowed out again. Everypony froze and scanned the court for the pegasus who stood still, a statue. It was well known that Stainless could never try again for being a Guard and the fact the great Iron Hoofs himself was his Grandfather. Some laughed, others felt sorry, but all left the pegasus to stand in the court to take in what had happened. Two days had past and Stainless still stood, in formation as if the other 99 where there waiting to hear their names. Many had tried to move him, even his Grandfather but there he stood under the Guard towers haunting reminder that he was not good enough. Two days the armour had dulled more due to the weather, the mane had become knotted, and his coat became more grey. One of this wings hadn't folded back into place after some guards had tried to move him from the court. 'Now what?' he thought as he pulled the wing in and dropped his head. The weather had been hash for the height of summer as he left, the rain was coming down and the wind was blowing his mane and tail about everywhere. He knew to get away he could of just got above the clouds and walked across them, but he felt like he should stay and endure the weather as it was the final idea to get him to leave the court. He walked in a general dirction with his head hung low, the wings had popped out of place and dragged on the floor mixing with the girt and grime that the rain brought up. The rain finally stopped when he got to the road out of Canalot, where sat a small shop and a few carts. He looked up at the shop with liftin his head, the mane covering one eye but he could still read 'Gritstone's Trans' before moving his wings and picking himself up to the fly up to the 2nd level and thou a window to his room. sorry it doesn't go from the above but its kinda how i work =/ annoying hey. He sat in his room above his mates shop, staring into the mirror that he had looked into two days prior with his armour just polished, his mane, tail and wings groomed, but now stared back a broken pegasus, his dreams never to be fullfilled, the approval he wanted never to be got. He let the armour fall to the floor as he took it off, causing it to scratch and become dented and with his head still low he walked to the bathroom. As he headed there he could hear Gritstone giving his talk to the works with Babyblade giving her word every now and then like a normal partner does. "Crimson, Yam and Napalm, your carts are ready and the locations on them, i'll send the orders to the post offices for whats to be collected while your heading there" Stainless heard Gritstone say as he started the day as his heavy hooves hit the wooden floor and he slammed the bathrooms door shut. "Do you think that was Stainless, Grit?" a female voice asked "Go and check could you Blade? Please?" Girt said before leaving with the other three ponies "sigh" the dark red unicorn walked up and pushed open to see the grey pegasus looking in the bathrooms mirror has he thought where to start on his mess of a body "We thought you weren't coming back for your stuff?" She the saw the state of Stainless "Oh, didn't make it " she paused, this was not only stabbing the knife in but twisting it she felt "again?" "Babyblade? Can you help me sort this mess out" He stared at his two tone grey mane and tail, his messed up wings and his dirty coat, she said nothing as she used her magic and set to work to remove the knots, changing the mane and tail style, helping Stainless remove the muck he had collected from the ground on his return. Gritstone returned at the end of the working day after collecting and sending his businesses collections orders and pulling a cart that needed to be on tomorrows moving list, 'Least Superdream and Fourfifty should be back, but that would be a waste of a pegasus' he thought was he neared his shop, seeing that there was a new Recruitment armour sitting on top of the shop door by the rest. 'Stainless didn't make it then' he guessed as he rolled the cart to the back of the shop to be with the others, finding that the 8 knackered ones had gone, and 6 newish ones sat ready to be used for deliveries and Stainless sitting at the back of the yard with a dead cart and parts. "STAINLESS!" Grit called out to his friend, causing Stainless to get up and face him. He saw Babyblade, and probably his fillie Madass had as well, have given Stainless a make over, his mane had become more free flowing, far from the Guards requirement, and his tail had become more spiked and hung up in the air to give a speeding like effect.

Going to ponyville and stays at his normal pace thus being left by stainless 3. he joins stainless who joins the two carts together and takes them both at speed to Pville then going their own ways after they get there debatin how stainless helps okey and i see that pathfinding spell helps stainless get to ponyville faster
