I just stated watching classic Raw and smackdown matches and clips. Man those are still entertaining. I watch people like cena and CM punk. bored within 2 minutes. But Giant vs Kevin Nash, truly awesome stuff right there.
Nash in his prime was great, he could really put on a show. The late 90's stuff got me spoiled. I just never got into what they are doing now and a disclaimer here - I haven't watched or kept up with it in years. I think I did say above though, when I do catch some of it flipping channels, it doesn't give me a reason to stop on it to watch anymore. I wish it would. Some of the best times I had in college were hanging out with all my buddies and watching Raw with them.
Youtube is your friend. I've been watching matches for the last 3 days. I miss stuff like stone cold, N.W.O and the like. everything now just seems like they're not even trying. Vince vs Stone cold= awesome Edge/Christian vs hardys vs dudleys= awesome. Rivalries now are just nothing, boring and no feeling in them.
Apology accepted Snowy. Sorry it took so long. Still offering hugs? I used to do amateur wrestling in High School for about a month or two, but the lifestyle didn't mesh with me, too much focus on weight cutting and stuff. I would equate about 30% on the current mainstream product being crap, and the other 70% on nostalgia. Back in '98-'00 when wrestling was indeed awesome, we had a ton of fans who were like, "Man, remember wrestling in the '80s? Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, the Road Warriors, that was the best. Nobody today can touch them." Of course, today, there are really nobody as good as The Rock, Sting, or Steve Austin was in their primes. CM Punk, and maybe John Cena when he isn't booked like an idiotic cornball, do come close. But I blame that on WWE's inablity to make new stars instead of the lack of talent. Of course, Daniel Bryan (aka Ring of Honor's Bryan Danielson) winning the World title at the TLC PPV last night gave me the same feeling when Mankind won the WWF title off of the Rock back in late '98, early '99. Hopefully this is a new direction and not just a placeholder for yet another Randy Orton title run. I do like Orton now, but I don't need to see him in the title picture anytime soon.
I used to love wresting back in the day. My all time favourite would have to be HBK or the Rock, due to their magnificent acting and humourous lines. They will always be the most memorable to me. A couple months ago I was watching "Holy S***" Moments on Youtube, the most outrageous and crowd-pleasing moves, such as Shane McMahon jumping of the huge screen to miss elbow-dropping Kane, or Mick Foley getting chucked off the Hell in a Cell Cage (that was a great match). Such great memories of the good times of WWE/F. Now, I just don't bother with it. I find the games not too shabby. HCTP will always be the best
I miss the hardcore title. That was always my favorite. Raven was always the best with the title. I remember raven and rhyno going at it. And stables like the N.W.O. Those were the good ol' days. Sneaking up late to watch the main event and then getting in trouble. Then I had to miss a smackdown. So I'd get a friend to record it. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
My favorite was always and will remain RVD, raven and Jeff hardy. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
My favorites, since I never listed them: Bruno Sammartino, Harley Race, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Mr. Perfect, Earthquake, Vader, Yokozuna, Sting (surfer dude persona), La Parka/LA Park, and currently, Christian and Bobby Roode. I have plenty more, but this is off the top of my head.
I recently started watching wrestling, super fake but extremely entertertaining. Zach Ryder is the bomb, can't wait to see who will win at WrestleMania, and does anypony know why John Cena is the only dude who doesn't wear a G-string? Looks so freaking brutal, too bad It's on PPV on dish.
Some pretty good matches I thought. Not gonna post any spoilers so I'll just say both Elimination chambers were brutal as heck. The ambulance match was insane. Totally worth a look.
Has Chris Jericho done any more lists lately?
He made the injured list last night but came back and won the 10 man battle royal to face CM Punk at WM. #Hoeski
man wwe hit the crapper lately i cant help but feel its only popularity is now sorely on die hard fans of pro wrestling i watch old videos of the pro wrestling era of hulk hogan and Andre the giant (most favorite moment is watching hulk hogan lift Andre over his head) and find it was way better then the wrestling of today
